The Outback Bloomin' Onion Copycat Recipe

1/3 cup cornstarch; more if needed
1-1/2 cups flour
2 tsp garlic; mince
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
24 oz beer
4 Sweet Vidalia onions
2 cups flour
4 tsp paprika
2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp Cayenne creamy chili sauce
1 pint mayonnaise
1 pint sour cream
1/2 cup tomato chili sauce
1/2 tsp Cayenne


Mix cornstarch, flour and seasonings until well blended. Add beer, mix well.

Cut about 3/4" off top of onion and peel. Cut into onion 12 to 16 vertical wedges but do not cut through bottom root end. Remove about 1" of petals from center of onion. Dip onion in seasoned flour and remove excess by shaking. Separate petals to coat thoroughly with batter.

Gently place in fryer basket and deep-fry at 375 to 400~ 1-1/2 minutes. Turn over and fry 1-1/2 minutes longer or until golden brown.

Drain on paper towels.

Place onion upright in shallow bowl and remove center core with circular cutter or apple corer.

Serve hot with Creamy Chili Sauce.

Seasoned Flour:

Combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, pepper and cayenne and mix well.
Creamy Chili Sauce:
Combine mayo, sour cream, chili sauce and cayenne and mix well.

Cheesy Baked Spaghetti

1 lb hamburger
15 oz tomato sauce 
8oz tomato puree
1 can tomato paste
Parsley
Oregano
Basil
Onion Powder
Garlic Powder
Spaghetti
Parmesan cheese

Brown hamburger and drain.

Mix all ingredients to make your sauce and add the hamburger. Mix well and continue cooking until it thickens.

Boil the spaghetti. In a greased casserole dish, add about a cup of sauce and cover the bottom. Add a layer of spaghetti, cover with half the remaining sauce and cover with Parmesan cheese. Add the rest of the spaghetti and pour on remainin sauce and cheese.



Bake at 350 for 15-20 mins. You can't find a cheaper recipe anywhere.

Quick and Easy Chicken Pie Recipe

3 cups cooked, diced chicken
1 ( 10 oz. ) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
1 ( 10 3/4 oz. ) can Cream of Chicken Soup
1 c. chicken broth
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. Bisquick
3/4 c. milk
1/4 c. margarine, melted

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In 2 quart shallow baking dish, spread chicken and vegetables. Stir together soup, broth, and pepper in a small mixing bowl. Pour over chicken mixture. 

Combine Bisquick, milk and butter in separate bowl; stir until smooth. Pour this mixture over other ingredients in baking dish. Bake for 45 -50 minutes or until golden brown. 

Macaroni and Cheese

I know. This is a simple recipe right out of the box. But we are going to add a few touches to make this a delicious dinner in itself.

1 - 2 boxes of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese
1 pound of bacon - slices cut into fourths
4 - 6 slices Velveeta Cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Make your macaroni and cheese as per the instructions, but double the amount of milk you add.
Fry the bacon to your desired crispness and drain.

In a casserole dish, mix the macaroni & cheese with the bacon and spread evenly. On top of the mixture, place slices of Velveeta cheese. Place in the oven and bake until the cheese melts, about 10 minutes.

Hamburger Pie

1 - 2 pounds of hamburger
a regular size can of peas
2 cans of tomato soup
mashed potatoes

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

You need to begin by making mashed potatoes and browning the hamburger. Make the potatoes on the runny side.

In a greased casserole dish, mix the hamburger with the tomato soup and the can of peas (drained). Spread the potatoes evenly on top of the mixture and place in the oven for about 20 minutes, forming a nice crust.

As a nice option, spread grated cheese over the top of the potatoes before you place in the oven.

This is my grandson's favorite meal.

Slow Cooker Pot Roast

I'm always giving you a recipe for slow cookers but sometimes you might simply want to slow cook meat all day long for the tenderest piece of meat you can get.

Pour 2 cups of water into the slow cooker and season it with onion powder, garlic powder; whatever other seasonings you might like. In fact, try replacing 1 cup of water with 1 cup of tomato sauce for a delicious and different taste.

Brown a roast on 2 sides and place in the slow cooker. I like it to cook all day long on low. Then I make up mashed potatoes at suppertime, pull out the roast, pour the juice in a pan and make gravy and . . . . . I'm telling you. Talk about delicious!

The roast will fall apart and no knife is needed. I cooked it this way at my mother-in-laws house and when it was time to serve, she got out the carving knifes. I told her "Don't need em.". She didn't believe me until I pulled the roast out of the slow cooker and it was falling apart while I transfered it.
